About Us
Shree Swaminarayan Temple Vadtaldham Sydney embarked on its journey in 2012 with the inaugural satsang sabha held in Toongabbie, Western Sydney. His Holiness Acharya Rakeshprasad Maharajshree, the spiritual leader of Shree Laxmi Narayan Dev Gadi accompanied with Vadtaldham temple saints recognised the need for a temple in the western suburbs to cater to the metaphysical and spiritual needs of devotees during their visit in 2016. He envisioned the construction of the Vadtaldham Swaminarayan Temple Sydney, not solely for Swaminarayan devotees but for all seekers on their journey toward spiritual enlightenment. Maharajshree guided the initiation of Satsang Sabha in the western areas, and soon after, the regular satsang sabha, along with the celebration of all festivals and events, commenced in the Riverstone community hall every Saturday. Within a year, the initiative to build the temple took shape in Riverstone, where the land was acquired, and the temple project began.

In October 2018, the Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Riverstone, Western Sydney, witnessed its inauguration and the sacred Murti Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav (the installation of sacred idols). Since then, the satsang community in Sydney has flourished, with a steady influx of devout satsangis who have strengthened their faith. Acharya Rakeshprasad Maharajshree fulfilled his promise by making annual visits to Sydney for five consecutive years, nurturing the growing satsang community. During this time, numerous young satsangi families from around the world settled in different suburbs of Sydney, further enriching the satsang.
Over the subsequent years, the satsang community experienced remarkable growth, necessitating a larger temple. Five acres of land were acquired in 2022 to build the first Shikhar bandh Swaminarayan temple in Sydney, a significant step towards fulfilling the vision. This achievement was made possible through the grace of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, the unwavering support of Maharajshree, continuous inspiration from divine saints, and the dedicated devotion of countless volunteers. The chosen location for the Shikhar bandh temple at 50 Stony Creek Road, Shanes Park, Western Sydney, is ideally situated, easily accessible to all in the Western Sydney region. The Bhoomi Poojan ceremony was conducted at this site in 2022 in the esteemed presence of Maharajshree and the saints. This grand Mandir Bhoomi Poojan Ceremony witnessed the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of devoted disciples, marking a significant and joyous occasion. Devotees are currently working diligently to obtain all the necessary permits and approvals for the new temple construction at Shanes Park. With the grace of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, the blessings of Acharya and Saints, and the physical, mental, and financial seva (service) of devotees from around the world and within Australia, construction work on this temple will commence soon, and a Murti Pratishtha Mahotsav will be celebrated in a grand manner in the near future.
